Structural Engineer - Kilkenny

A growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its expanding Kilkenny team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and experienced engineer looking to work on a diverse range of projects across residential, commercial, industrial and active travel sectors throughout the Midlands and South East.

You will join a highly collaborative multi-office environment where engineers are given real responsibility, client exposure and the opportunity to contribute to projects from concept through to construction.

Working alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists, you will play a key role in the delivery of structural design solutions for both public and private sector clients.

The Role

As a Structural Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Structural analysis and design of building and infrastructure projects
• Preparation and review of structural calculations and technical reports
• Development of conceptual and detailed structural designs
• Coordination with architects, contractors and design teams
• Preparation and review of construction drawings and specifications
• Site inspections and construction-stage support
• Ensuring designs are delivered in accordance with Eurocodes and industry standards
• Assisting with project delivery, programme management and client communications
• Supporting the mentoring and development of junior engineers where appropriate

Requirements 

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
• Minimum 5+ years structural engineering experience
• Ideally 2+ years in a consultancy environment
• Strong understanding of structural analysis and design principles
• Experience preparing design calculations and technical documentation
• Knowledge of Eurocodes and relevant Irish building regulations
