About the Role

A rapidly growing and ambitious accountancy practice is seeking a Manager to join their SME Accounting & Advisory team. This is a key leadership position, responsible for managing a talented team, overseeing client relationships, and ensuring high-quality delivery of accounting and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the SME Accounting & Advisory team (currently 12 members)
  • Organise and oversee monthly workflow, ensuring timely delivery of:
    • Financial Statements
    • Management Accounts
    • Corporation Tax and VAT
    • Other accounting and advisory assignments
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop team members
  • Manage client relationships and ensure high-quality service delivery
  • Monitor team KPIs and performance metrics, reporting to senior management
  • Identify additional billing opportunities within the client portfolio
  • Contribute to process improvement and operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with accounting and auditing standards, firm policies, and deadlines
  • Oversee time-sheet approvals and billing processes
  • Collaborate with partners and management team to meet department objectives
Skills & Experience Required
  • ACA / ACCA / CPA qualified
  • 4+ years PQE in Irish practice, with people management experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards (IAS, FRS 102, IFRS, Auditing Standards)
  • Knowledge of the Irish tax system; some audit experience preferred
  • Excellent understanding of accounting software packages
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong organisational, planning, and communication abilities
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work within budgets
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement and deliver high-quality outcomes
