As a Senior Site Engineer, you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of civil infrastructure and utility projects. You will:
- Lead site engineering activities and act as the main technical advisor on-site for subcontractors, craftspeople, and operatives.
- Oversee all setting out and surveying work, using total stations, GPS, AutoCAD, and other digital tools to ensure accurate positioning and measurements.
- Plan and manage daily site operations, ensuring works are delivered to specification, on schedule, and within budget.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting toolbox talks, risk assessments, and maintaining high standards of site safety and housekeeping.
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, consultants, and design teams to resolve technical queries and deliver seamless project execution.
- Manage site records and documentation, including method statements, permits, site diaries, QA/QC checklists, and progress reports.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and site staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance site culture.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors, reviewing plans, inspecting materials, and ensuring all parties are aligned with project goals.
- Contribute to project planning and progress meetings, offering engineering insight to improve productivity and quality.
Requirements: - 5+ years of experience in civil engineering or utility projects (e.g. water, energy, telecoms).
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Proficiency in setting out and surveying techniques with GPS/Total Station and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of Irish construction and health & safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Full driving licence and flexibility to travel between sites.
