Senior Quantity Surveyor

Company Intro / Summary
A leading Tier One Main Building Contractor is looking to add a Senior Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team in Dublin. This is a senior commercial position with responsibility for the full commercial management of projects, working closely with the Contracts Manager, Project Manager and wider construction team.

The successful candidate will take ownership of commercial and contractual matters across projects, while also supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team. The role offers exposure to significant projects and complex contractual environments, with project values ranging from €5m to €15m+.

Responsibilities
• Taking ownership of the commercial strategy and overall commercial management of projects
• Leading procurement activities including tendering, subcontractor selection, negotiations and final accounts
• Preparing and presenting financial forecasts, cash flow projections, valuations and reconciliations
• Managing variations, claims and disputes while ensuring commercial entitlements are protected
• Maintaining project risk and opportunity registers
• Preparing and agreeing final accounts
• Providing commercial input during tenders and two-stage procurement processes
• Managing complex subcontract agreements and associated contractual documentation
• Advising on bonds, warranties, guarantees, insurances and letters of intent
• Providing regular commercial reporting to senior management
• Mentoring and supporting Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors
• Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors and project partners on commercial matters

Requirements
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Strong experience in a senior Quantity Surveying/commercial role
• Experience managing projects valued at €5m–€15m+
• Strong knowledge of commercial and contractual management
• Experience with traditional and design & build contracts
• Knowledge of NEC and JCT contract forms would be advantageous
• Experience managing variations, claims, disputes and final accounts
• Strong procurement and subcontract management experience
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to lead and mentor junior commercial staff
• Chartered membership of RICS, CIOB or equivalent would be desirable

• €100,000 - €115,000 DOE
