Senior Quantity Surveyor

Company Intro / Summary
A well-established and steadily expanding building contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Cork-based commercial team. This company has built a strong reputation throughout Munster and holds a significant presence in Cork’s construction landscape.

You will be working on large-scale residential developments that are actively shaping Cork’s suburbs and contributing to the city’s continued growth. With projects secured well into 2028, this is a long-term, stable role offering excellent progression within an ambitious and growing organisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management on major residential projects across Cork.
• Prepare and manage valuations, variations, cost reports, and final accounts.
• Oversee procurement, tendering, and subcontractor package negotiations.
• Work closely with project teams to ensure accurate cost control and risk management.
• Provide strategic commercial insight and support to senior management.
• Mentor Junior QS staff and contribute to the development of the commercial team.
• Ensure full compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum 6–8 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
• Strong background in residential or main contracting projects.
• Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple project responsibilities.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
• Strong communication, reporting, and organisational skills.

Package

• €80,000 – €90,000 DOE
