Senior QS / Commercial Manager

An ambitious and growing groundwork and civil engineering contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to join their team based in Meath. The company has built a strong reputation within the groundworks sector and is now targeting larger-scale projects as part of its continued expansion plans.
  
This is a key strategic hire within the business, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to play a major role in shaping the company’s commercial operations and supporting its next phase of growth. The role would suit an experienced QS or Commercial Manager looking to step into a position with genuine influence and long-term progression potential.
  
Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of groundwork and civil engineering projects.
• Oversee budgeting, cost planning, and financial reporting.
• Manage procurement and subcontractor negotiations.
• Support tendering and pricing activities for larger-scale project opportunities.
• Monitor project costs, cashflow, and commercial performance.
• Manage valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Work closely with directors and operational teams to support business growth.
• Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Help develop and improve commercial systems and procedures within the business.

Requirements

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management role.
• Strong experience within groundworks, civils, or infrastructure projects.
• Commercially driven with strong negotiation and leadership abilities.
• Experience supporting tendering and business growth initiatives is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills.
• Ambitious individual looking to grow alongside an expanding company.

Package

• €80,000 - €90,000 DOE
• Full-time, permanent position based in Meath.
