Senior Planner

Progress your planning career with a leading consultancy delivering some of Ireland’s most significant renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
  
As a Senior Planner, you’ll play a key role in shaping the delivery of complex, high-profile developments — leading projects from inception through to planning approval, and mentoring junior colleagues along the way.
  
You’ll work across large-scale renewable energy, infrastructure, commercial and residential projects, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams of environmental scientists, engineers, and project managers.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and management of planning applications for renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
• Oversee project delivery from early feasibility through to submission, ensuring all documentation meets the highest technical standards.
• Engage proactively with local authorities, statutory bodies, and stakeholders to progress projects effectively.
• Review and provide quality assurance on planning assessments and reports prepared by junior team members.
• Support and mentor junior planners, contributing to a collaborative and technically strong planning team.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and ensure delivery within deadlines and budget parameters.

  
Skills & Experience

• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline, ideally with IPI or RTPI accreditation (or working toward it).
• 6+ years’ post-graduate experience in a planning or environmental consultancy environment.
• Strong understanding of the Irish planning system, including national and EU planning and environmental legislation.
• Proven experience managing renewable energy, infrastructure, or large-scale development projects.
• Excellent written communication and report writing skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to liaise confidently with clients and public authorities.
