A specialist mechanical contractor is seeking a Senior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team in Dublin. With steady growth and a strong pipeline of work across Ireland and mainland Europe, this company delivers complex fire suppression solutions, including large-scale sprinkler systems, for high-profile commercial and industrial clients. This is a great opportunity to take on a commercially focused role within a niche and fast-evolving area of building services.
  
Responsibilities
  • Manage all pre- and post-contract quantity surveying duties for mechanical/fire protection projects.
  • Prepare detailed cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation.
  • Conduct procurement processes and evaluate subcontractor and supplier packages.
  • Oversee contract administration, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Ensure accurate cost reporting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Liaise with design, site, and commercial teams to ensure project delivery aligns with budget and timelines.
  • Provide commercial leadership across multiple domestic and European projects.
  • Mentor junior QS team members and promote best practices.
  
Requirements
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a mechanical or building services QS role.
  • Experience in fire protection or sprinkler systems would be highly regarded.
  • Strong knowledge of contracts, procurement processes, and cost control methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects independently.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for project needs in mainland Europe.
