Senior Mechanical Project Engineer

ProSource Group are working with a large Mechanical Contractor who are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer who will be responsible for supporting Project Management in the delivery of mechanical building services installations within hospital and healthcare environments.

Salary - €65,000 - €75,000

Key Responsibilities

• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure accuracy, coordination, and compliance with project requirements.
• Support mechanical design development, resolve technical queries, and assist with equipment selection, material approvals, and procurement activities.
• Ensure all mechanical installations comply with relevant European standards and project specifications.
• Monitor on-site mechanical installations to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to design requirements.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve issues and maintain project progress.
• Attend site meetings, monitor installation progress, and report updates to the Project Manager.
• Assist in preparing method statements, risk assessments, inspection test plans (ITPs), quality records, and as-built documentation.
• Manage technical submittals, RFIs, compliance documentation, equipment tagging, and asset registers.
• Support testing, commissioning, system verification, and the preparation of O&M manuals and handover documentation.
• Promote compliance with health, safety, IMS, ISO, and project-specific standards.

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification
• 3+ years’ experience in mechanical building services or construction engineering
• Experience working with live hospital environments
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building services, including HVAC, piping, chilled water, heating, ventilation, BMS integration, and fire protection systems.
