Senior Mechanical Engineer (Building Services)

Overview 

A well-established and growing building services consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its Dublin-based team.
This is a key hire within the mechanical division, offering the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of projects including commercial, education, remediation and mixed-use developments, while progressing toward Associate level in the medium term.

The Role

You will take a senior position within the mechanical design team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality building services projects from concept through to construction and handover.
This hybrid role combines technical delivery, project coordination and client engagement, with increasing responsibility as you progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design across building services projects
• Deliver HVAC, heating, ventilation and associated systems across all project stages
• Coordinate with electrical, structural and architectural teams
• Support project delivery, ensuring timelines, quality and technical standards are met
• Engage with clients and attend design meetings as a key project representative
• Contribute to project planning, coordination and technical decision-making
• Support and mentor junior engineers where required

Experience & Requirements

• 8–12 years’ experience in building services engineering
• Strong consultancy background (essential)
• Proven experience delivering mechanical design across full project lifecycle
• Strong knowledge of Irish and UK design standards
• Experience across a range of sectors (commercial, education, remediation etc.)
• Degree in Mechanical / Building Services Engineering
• Chartered or working toward Chartership desirable

• Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery
