Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

ProSource Group are seeking a Senior Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer on behalf of a leading consultancy. This role will be based in Cork.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of projects in the healthcare, education, and commercial office sectors, taking designs from concept through to delivery.
The role is ideal for an experienced engineer who can combine strong technical knowledge with client-facing and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of mechanical services installations on medium to large projects.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, compliant design solutions.
• Attend client and design meetings, representing the electrical team with confidence.
• Oversee design deliverables: schematics, layouts, specifications, reports, and calculations.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technicians
• Conduct site inspections and manage contractor queries.
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, codes, and project standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in mechanical building services design.
• Proven track record across healthcare, education, and/or commercial office projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full, clean driving licence and access to transport.

Desirable Skills

• Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards chartership).
• Practical knowledge of Revit/BIM in building services design.
