Senior Manager/ Director (VAT)

This opportunity is for an experienced Senior Manager or Director to build and lead a VAT team in their new Dublin office. You’ll be part of the senior tax leadership group, advising a broad client base on VAT matters while also developing and expanding the VAT offering.

Whether you bring deep expertise in a particular area of VAT or a more generalist background, the role offers the chance to make a real impact and shape the direction of the team.

You’ll be working closely with partners, supporting client proposals, and playing a key role in developing business opportunities. The right person will be confident, client-focused, and comfortable leading from the front.

Responsibilities:

• Advising clients on VAT planning opportunities and acting as their main point of contact
• Building and managing a team, ensuring work is delegated effectively and deadlines are met
• Monitoring progress and ensuring the profitability of the VAT function
• Raising awareness of VAT within the wider firm and promoting good practice
• Working closely with partners and managers to manage client VAT issues
• Providing training on VAT and supporting the development of junior staff
• Overseeing the delivery of tax projects and advisory work

Qualifications:

• CTA, CTC, ACA or ACCA qualified
• Experience working in a Top 20 firm in Ireland.
• Excellent communication.
• Strong and current technical knowledge of VAT.
• Hands-on experience dealing with VAT issues, ideally in a tax advisory or HMRC setting.
• A track record of delivering tax projects successfully.
• Experience managing and developing teams.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and adapt to client needs.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• A proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
