Senior Geotechnical Engineer - South Dublin

A leading specialist geotechnical consultancy is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join its growing Dublin team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded independent consultancy that specialises exclusively in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology and hydrogeology.

The business delivers complex design solutions across major infrastructure, commercial, energy and transportation projects throughout Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe.

Working within a close-knit team of technical specialists, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, work directly with clients and contribute to the delivery of some of the most challenging geotechnical schemes currently in the market.

The Role

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Geotechnical assessment, analysis and design
• Preparation of Geotechnical Interpretive Reports (GIRs) and Geotechnical Design Reports (GDRs)
• Foundation and piling design
• Retaining wall and excavation support design
• Earthworks and slope stability assessments
• Ground investigation planning and interpretation
• Technical review and quality assurance of project deliverables
• Client liaison and project management
• Site inspections and construction-stage support

• Major transportation infrastructure
• Data centres
• Commercial and residential developments
• Marine and port infrastructure
• Energy and utility projects
• Flood defence schemes
• Tunnelling and underground structures
• Large-scale industrial developments

Projects are delivered across Ireland and internationally, including the UK, Germany and Spain.

Requirements 

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Chartered status or working towards chartership is advantageous
• Experience preparing technical reports and design documentation
• Knowledge of Eurocodes and geotechnical design standards
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Oasys or similar geotechnical analysis packages is advantageous.
