Senior Estimator

A well-established and growing civil engineering contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to join their team based in Mayo. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects and a substantial pipeline of work secured nationwide, the company continues to expand across multiple sectors.
  
This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of civil engineering tenders, from smaller-scale works through to major infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in securing future projects and contributing to the continued growth of the business.
  
Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and submission of tenders across a range of civil engineering projects.
• Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, pricing, and bid submissions.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
• Assess project risks and identify value engineering opportunities.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop tender strategies.
• Support senior management with bid reviews and commercial decisions.
• Maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders and supply chain partners.

Requirements

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• 8+ years’ experience in an estimating role within civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of pricing and tendering processes.
• Experience across a range of project types, from minor works to large-scale infrastructure.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Ambitious and motivated with a long-term career focus.

Package

• €80,000 - €95,000 (DOE).
• Full-time, permanent position based in Mayo.
