Senior Estimator

A leading civil engineering and construction contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their head office team in Kildare. This company is renowned for delivering large-scale infrastructure, utilities, and building projects across Ireland and the UK. The role offers an opportunity to join a high-performing pre-construction team within one of Ireland’s most respected contractors, contributing to the successful tendering of major national projects.
  
Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to produce accurate pricing.
• Liaise with clients, design teams, and internal departments throughout the tender process.
• Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring value and compliance.
• Identify risks and opportunities within project scopes and propose cost-effective solutions.
• Lead value engineering exercises and provide commercial insight during bid preparation.
• Prepare handover documentation for awarded projects, ensuring a smooth transition to delivery teams.
• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement within the estimating function.

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7–10 years’ estimating experience within the Irish or UK construction industry.
• Proven track record preparing tenders for civil engineering or building projects.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and technical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of tendering procedures.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a collaborative approach.

Package

• Salary: €80,000 – €95,000 DOE.
• Full-time, permanent position based at head office in Kildare.
