Senior Electrical Engineer - Southwest Dublin

Role Overview

A growing and forward-thinking building services consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its M&E design team based in Southwest Dublin.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer to play a key role in the delivery of high-quality building services projects while working within a collaborative and innovative consultancy environment. The practice delivers electrical and mechanical design services across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare and mixed-use developments.
The role offers the chance to take ownership of electrical design packages while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to technically robust project delivery.

The Role

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and coordination of electrical building services systems from concept stage through to construction support.
You will liaise closely with mechanical engineers, architects, contractors and project managers to deliver practical, efficient and compliant engineering solutions.

Core Duties

• Lead the electrical design and specification of building services systems across multiple projects
• Design systems including:
  
  • Lighting and emergency lighting
  • Small power and distribution
  • Fire alarm and life safety systems
  • Containment and cable management
  • MV/LV distribution systems
• Produce electrical calculations, drawings, technical reports and specifications
• Coordinate designs within a BIM / Revit environment
• Attend client meetings, design reviews and technical workshops
• Provide support during construction including responding to RFIs, technical queries and site inspections
• Ensure all designs comply with Irish and European standards (ETCI, IS, EN, IEC, CIBSE etc.)
• Mentor and support junior engineers within the team

Key Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• 6+ years’ experience in electrical building services design (consultancy experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of electrical building services systems and design standards
• Experience using AutoCAD and Revit
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Chartered Engineer status or working toward chartership (Engineers Ireland / CIBSE) is desirable
