Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Waterford

ProSource Group are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a dynamic and growing team with a leading consultancy in Waterford City.

This is a key role offering the opportunity to lead electrical design across a range of projects in the residential, commercial, retail, and industrial sectors, while mentoring junior staff and playing a part in the growth of the office.
The role is ideal for an ambitious engineer with strong technical expertise, project leadership skills, and the ability to deliver innovative and practical electrical design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of electrical services installations across multiple sectors
• Prepare detailed designs, specifications, schematics, drawings, and reports
• Oversee coordination with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams
• Attend client and design team meetings, representing the electrical discipline confidently
• Carry out site inspections, surveys, and ensure design compliance with standards
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians
• Contribute to project planning, cost control, and programme delivery
• Ensure designs meet sustainability, efficiency, and safety standards

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Minimum 7+ years’ experience in electrical building services design
• Track record delivering projects in residential, commercial, retail, or industrial sectors
• Chartered Engineer status (preferred) or actively working toward chartership
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit/BIM knowledge desirable)
• Excellent technical design, problem-solving, and project leadership skills
• Strong client-facing communication and presentation ability
