Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Limerick

A progressive building services consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its team in Limerick. This is a leadership role for a technically strong engineer who enjoys mentoring others, driving best practice, and taking ownership of electrical design delivery across projects of varying size and complexity.

The Role As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead the electrical design function on projects while supporting the development of engineers within the team and contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing the full electrical design delivery on projects of all sizes.
• Ensuring a high standard of client care and technical performance throughout delivery.
• Providing quality control and technical oversight of electrical deliverables across multiple offices.
• Managing project cost control, resource planning, and delivery performance.
• Leading both project teams and cross-functional teams within the organisation.
• Representing the business at client meetings, site surveys, training, and project interface activities.
• Collaborating with teams across other offices and disciplines to support integrated delivery.

Education & Experience

• Degree-level qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 6+ years’ experience in electrical building services design within a consultancy environment.
• Proven ability delivering detailed designs through the full design cycle.
• Expert user of Amtech and Relux/Dialux.
• BIM experience advantageous.
• Chartered status desirable (or actively working toward Chartership).

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of electrical building services design and coordination across disciplines
• Expert knowledge in:

  • Fire alarms
  • CCTV & intruder alarms
  • MV/LV distribution
  • Containment & BMS
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and high professional standards.
• Proven leadership and ability to drive project performance (client satisfaction + profitable delivery).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commercial awareness and disciplined decision-making capability.
