Key Responsibilities - Lead and coordinate the design process across civil, structural, and public realm disciplines.
- Oversee design deliverables for roadworks, cycleway design, junction improvements, and streetscape enhancements.
- Ensure all designs comply with DMURS, the Cycle Design Manual, and NTA specifications.
- Liaise with internal teams, design consultants, and client representatives to resolve technical and programme issues.
- Manage design schedules, reviews, and approvals to maintain project milestones.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to design engineers and technicians.
- Review and sign off detailed design drawings and ensure constructability.
- Collaborate with construction teams to align design intent with site delivery.
Requirements - Degree-qualified Civil Engineer or equivalent.
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience in design and coordination roles on major road or public transport projects.
- Proven knowledge of DMURS, Cycle Design Manual, and NTA standards.
- Experience delivering complex urban or active travel schemes from design through to construction.
- Strong stakeholder and design management skills.
- Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
- Chartered Engineer status desirable.
