Senior Civil Engineer / Design Build Lead - Water - Galway

ProSource are working with a leading Irish multidisciplinary engineering consultancy seeking a Senior Civil Engineer / Design Build Lead for its Water & Utilities team in Galway.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior engineering professional to take a leadership role in the design and delivery of major water, wastewater, drainage and utility infrastructure projects across Ireland.

The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary design teams, manage technical project delivery and support the development of junior engineers. The position offers increased responsibility, exposure to complex Design-Build projects and a clear pathway for continued career progression.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of water, wastewater, drainage and utility infrastructure projects.
• Act as Technical Lead on Design-Build and traditional contract projects.
• Manage project resources, programmes and technical deliverables.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Liaise with clients, Uisce Éireann, local authorities, contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Graduate and Project Engineers.
• Assist with client relationship management, tenders and project bids where required.
• Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures, Irish design standards, Health and Safety legislation and BCAR requirements.

Requirements

• Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards chartership with Engineers Ireland, or equivalent.
• 8+ years relevant experience in water, wastewater, utilities or civil infrastructure.
• Strong experience in the delivery of Design-Build projects.
• Knowledge of Uisce Éireann and local authority standards, specifications and approval processes.
• Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to manage competing project priorities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience using water and drainage design software.

• Water and wastewater infrastructure
• Water or wastewater treatment facilities
• Water network modelling
• Drainage and stormwater management
• Utility infrastructure
• Design-Build project delivery
