Senior Associate - Midlands

My client is an established accountancy firm with multiple locations in the midlands. They are seeking a driven Senior Associate to join the team.  

The successful candidate will have a keen desire to grow their career in practice and for the right candidate this firm is offering partner-track progression within three years and the potential for junior partnership within five years. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in statutory audits, including planning, risk assessments, and completion procedures. ​
  • Prepare year-end financial statements for audit-exempt entities per FRS 102 Section 1A and Irish GAAP. ​
  • Manage client portfolios, providing advice on tax planning, financial controls, and cash-flow management. ​
  • Oversee workflow across multiple clients, ensuring timely delivery of financial outputs and compliance with quality standards. ​
  • Prepare corporation tax computations, VAT workings, and income tax returns, while supporting R&D tax credit claims. ​
  • Review bookkeeping for accuracy and provide technical guidance to junior staff. ​
  • Mentor and develop junior associates, leading training sessions and supporting recruitment efforts. ​
  • Collaborate with partners on high-priority clients and contribute to departmental vision and growth. ​

Skills & Experiences:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ ACCA).
  • At least 2-3 years experience working in a S/M practice setting in Ireland.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues and clients. 
  • Strong experience at all stages of the Audit process.
  • Ability to prepare Accounts to an advanced stage.
  • Tax experience to included Income Tax Computations (and submissions), CAT, CGT, VAT, VIES, RCT and other advisory work.
  • Up to date on accounting and tax regulations and CPD compliance, through continuous professional education. ​
  • Foster a collaborative work environment, reporting any unprofessional behaviour. ​
