Senior Architectural Technologist
Location: Dublin 
Salary: €85,000–€95,000 (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent

Role Summary

An experienced Senior Architectural Technologist is required to support the technical delivery of complex architectural projects, with a strong focus on Irish Public Works, particularly Department of Education (DoE / DEY) and other public-sector clients. This position suits someone with excellent technical judgement, advanced Revit expertise, and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical delivery of projects from design development through to construction
  • Develop, coordinate, and manage high-quality Revit models, drawings, and technical documentation
  • Ensure projects comply with DEY design guidelines, Technical Guidance Documents (TGDs), and room data requirements
  • Maintain full compliance with Irish Building Regulations, BCAR, fire safety, accessibility, and planning standards
  • Support delivery of public sector and other architectural projects
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders including engineers, contractors, assigned certifiers, and statutory bodies
  • Assist with programming, technical reviews, and quality assurance processes
  • Identify and resolve technical risks proactively with minimal supervision
  • Incorporate sustainability and decarbonisation principles, including retrofit and low-energy design strategies
  • Mentor junior team members and promote strong technical standards across the department
  • Carry out duties in roles such as Employer’s Representative / Assigned Certifier where required
Essential Criteria
  • 10+ years’ experience in architectural technology (or similar role)
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit (required)
  • Solid experience with DEY / public sector projects
  • High-level detailing skills across all RIAI / RIBA work stages
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Excellent knowledge of Irish compliance procedures and legislation
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Knowledge of Public Works Contracts and Employer’s Rep responsibilities is an advantage
Desirable Experience
  • Familiarity with GCCC Public Works Contracts, RIAI contracts, or similar
  • Experience delivering schools, campuses, or third-level education projects
  • Strong understanding of NZEB, low-carbon construction, and sustainability targets
  • Experience working on refurbishment, retrofit, or live-building environments
  • Proven leadership or mentoring experience
Education
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Architectural Technology or a related discipline
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
