Senior Accountant - Monaghan

Role Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Accountant to join our practice team. The successful candidate will work primarily with SME and agricultural clients, supporting them with bookkeeping, management accounts, statutory accounts, tax compliance, and advisory services.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, has strong technical accounting skills, and wants to progress their career in a supportive practice environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts for SME and Agri clients
• Preparation of statutory accounts and financial statements
• Bookkeeping (Xero/Sage/QuickBooks) and reconciliations
• Preparation of VAT returns and other compliance tasks
• Supporting tax compliance (income tax, corporation tax, PAYE)
• Assisting with audit files and client documentation
• Liaising with clients and providing proactive support and advice
• Contributing to practice development and continuous improvement
• Working alongside partners and senior team members on client work

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or recently qualified
• Strong accounting and bookkeeping experience, ideally in a practice environment
• Experience working with SME and agricultural clients is highly desirable
• Proficient in Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar accounting software
• Strong Excel skills
• Excellent communication skills and client-facing ability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
