Senior Accountant – Cork

My client, a well-established Irish accountancy and advisory practice, is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their Galway office. 

The Role:

• Take ownership of client files and prepare financial statements from start to finish, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
• Prepare accounts and income tax returns for individuals, sole traders, and company directors.
• Draft financial reports and provide insights to clients and senior management.
• Support and train junior staff, reviewing their work and guiding them through client projects.
• Spot potential compliance issues and highlight them to management.
• Work with a diverse portfolio of clients across different sectors, providing accounting, compliance, and advisory services.
• Present findings and updates to managers and partners.
• Contribute to the team’s development by sharing knowledge and mentoring colleagues.
• Some travel may be required depending on client needs.

About You:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• At least 1–2 years’ post-qualified experience, ideally within practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of Irish tax and accounts preparation.
• Comfortable presenting to clients and senior stakeholders.
• Experience managing assignments, deadlines, and client expectations.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with a proactive approach.
• Able to work independently while also supporting and leading junior staff.
