Key Responsibilities - Plan, organise, and manage scaffolding works from tender stage through to completion.
- Coordinate labour, materials, equipment, and transport to meet project timelines.
- Oversee erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding structures.
- Liaise with clients, site managers, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Ensure full compliance with HSA/HSE regulations, company policies, and industry best practice.
- Prepare, review, and approve RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements).
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure scaffolding inspections are carried out and documented correctly.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise supervisors, foremen, and scaffolding operatives.
- Monitor performance, attendance, and competence of site teams.
- Ensure all operatives hold required training, cards, and certifications.
- Manage recruitment and allocation of scaffolding labour as required.
- Assist with pricing, variations, and progress claims.
- Ensure materials and equipment are used effectively and returned when required.
- Maintain accurate site records, inspections, permits, and reports.
- Ensure all documentation is up to date and compliant.
Qualifications
- Most hold an Advanced Scaffolder /Supervisory Scaffolding qualification.
- Certification in SMSTS or SSSTS and a Safe Pass (IRE) / CSCS (UK) is required.
- Proven experience in scaffolding management or senior supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of scaffolding systems and techniques
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Strong track record of taking responsibility in a project decision maker position.
- Must hold a full clean driving licence.
