Company Intro / Summary
A leading international construction and engineering group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its growing construction team based in Dublin. With a strong presence across Ireland, the UK and Europe, the business delivers major projects across building, infrastructure, rail, energy and off-site manufacturing.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join a market-leading organisation and take responsibility for the commercial delivery of major construction projects. The successful candidate will gain exposure to large-scale Design & Build projects while working alongside an experienced commercial and project team.
Responsibilities
• Prepare tenders, analyse subcontractor returns, and negotiate and finalise subcontract orders.
• Manage the financial and commercial aspects of subcontractors through to final account.
• Prepare valuations, variations, forecasts, and projected final accounts.
• Maintain accurate site records, measurements, and commercial documentation.
• Monitor project costs, targets, risks, and opportunities.
• Work closely with site management to identify and challenge commercial matters.
• Implement commercial strategies and protect contractual entitlements.
• Participate in contract value reviews and maintain accurate commercial reporting.
• Support cash management activities and maintain strong project cash flow.
• Supervise and support Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors where required.
• Support tender processes and wider commercial activities across the business.
Requirements
• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Experience working towards relevant professional accreditation.
• 2+ years' experience within the construction industry.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the project lifecycle.
• Experience with larger Design & Build contracts would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of claims, dispute resolution, and contract law would be beneficial.
• Experience working on contracts valued at €15m+ would be advantageous.
• Strong communication, negotiation, organisational, and time management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with site and commercial teams.
Package
• Salary: €60,000 – €70,000 DOE.
