Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a well-established, small-scale main building contractor based in Laois, specialising in residential, commercial, and light industrial builds. Known for their hands-on approach, quality workmanship, and long-standing client relationships, they are now seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their close-knit team. This role offers exposure to all phases of the project lifecycle and the opportunity to make a real impact in a growing business.
  
Responsibilities:

• Managing the commercial aspects of multiple construction projects from start to finish.
• Preparing cost estimates, tender submissions, and budget forecasts.
• Procuring subcontractors and suppliers and negotiating contract terms.
• Monitoring project costs and preparing monthly valuations and financial reports.
• Handling variations, change orders, and final accounts.
• Liaising with site teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective delivery.
• Maintaining strong project documentation and cost records.
• Ensuring compliance with contract terms, procurement policies, and safety standards.

Requirements:

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a QS role, ideally with a main contractor.
• Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle and construction contracts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QS software.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of project responsibilities.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and time management skills.
• Positive, proactive attitude and ability to thrive in a smaller, dynamic team environment.

Package:

• €50,000 - €60,000, commensurate with experience.
