Quantity Surveyor

A busy and well-established Main Building Contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Cork. The company has developed a strong reputation for delivering high-quality residential, commercial, and industrial projects across the Cork region. Responsibilities

• Manage the financial and contractual aspects of multiple building projects from tender through to final account.
• Prepare cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation.
• Oversee procurement, subcontractor engagement, and contract administration.
• Track project costs, variations, and valuations to ensure commercial control and reporting accuracy.
• Work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, progress claims, and cash flow forecasts.
• Contribute to value engineering exercises and cost optimisation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual obligations, and industry standards.

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years’ post-graduate experience, ideally with a main building contractor.
• Experience working on residential or commercial construction projects is advantageous.
• Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant QS software tools.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Package

• €50,000 - €60,000 DOE.
• Full-time, permanent position based in Cork.
