Quantity Surveyor

A well-established Steel Company is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Waterford. Specialising in the fabrication and installation of high-quality structural steelwork for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects, the company is known for precision engineering, reliability, and delivering projects to the highest standard. Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of structural steel projects from tender to final account.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities.
• Liaise with clients, engineers, and site teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.
• Procure subcontractors and materials, ensuring value for money and quality.
• Assess, negotiate, and manage variations and claims.
• Prepare and present monthly valuations and project financial reports.
• Support project planning with accurate forecasting and risk management.

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in a QS role, ideally within structural steel or construction.
• Strong understanding of fabrication, installation, and steel industry processes.
• Excellent commercial awareness and contract knowledge.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant QS software.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Package

• Salary: €50,000 – €55,000 per annum (DOE)
• Full-time, permanent position based in Waterford
