Steel Company is seeking a skilled
Quantity Surveyor to join their team in
Waterford. Specialising in the fabrication and installation of high-quality structural steelwork for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects, the company is known for precision engineering, reliability, and delivering projects to the highest standard. Responsibilities - Manage the commercial aspects of structural steel projects from tender to final account.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities.
- Liaise with clients, engineers, and site teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.
- Procure subcontractors and materials, ensuring value for money and quality.
- Assess, negotiate, and manage variations and claims.
- Prepare and present monthly valuations and project financial reports.
- Support project planning with accurate forecasting and risk management.
Requirements - Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in a QS role, ideally within structural steel or construction.
- Strong understanding of fabrication, installation, and steel industry processes.
- Excellent commercial awareness and contract knowledge.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant QS software.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Package - Salary: €50,000 – €55,000 per annum (DOE)
