Qualified Accountant - Wicklow

An established, small accountancy practice based in Wicklow is seeking to appoint an experienced Practice Accountant to join their close-knit team on a fixed-term basis. This position has arisen due to maternity leave within the team and will offer exposure to a broad range of accounting and tax responsibilities.

Given the size of the firm, this is a hands-on role that will suit someone coming from a small or medium-sized practice environment, where they have gained well-rounded experience across accounts preparation and tax compliance.
There may be an opportunity for the role to evolve into a longer-term position, however this is not guaranteed at this stage.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of financial statements for a portfolio of SME clients to final review stage
• Liaising directly with the Partner for final sign-off on accounts
• Preparation and filing of:
  
  • Income Tax returns
  • Corporation Tax returns
  • VAT returns and general compliance work
• Managing client relationships and acting as a point of contact for day-to-day queries
• Assisting clients with general financial and tax queries in a timely and professional manner
• Maintaining accurate working papers and ensuring files are audit/compliance ready
• Supporting the wider team as required in a collaborative environment

Candidate Profile

• ACA / ACCA qualified or part-qualified with strong practice experience
• Proven experience working in an Irish accountancy practice environment
• Ability to prepare accounts to final stage with minimal supervision
• Strong working knowledge of Irish tax (Income Tax, Corporation Tax, VAT)
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients is an advantage
• Comfortable working in a small team where flexibility and a hands-on approach are key
• Strong communication skills and ability to build client relationships
