Qualified Accountant - Waterford

The Opportunity You will manage a diverse portfolio of SME clients, acting as a trusted advisor across accounting, tax, and business matters. This role offers significant client exposure, autonomy, and the opportunity to develop your career within a progressive and supportive practice environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a portfolio of SME clients across a range of industries.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Irish accounting standards.
• Lead client meetings, present financial information, and provide practical business advice.
• Oversee tax compliance across VAT, PAYE, RCT, Corporation Tax, and Income Tax.
• Liaise with Revenue and manage client queries, filings, and compliance requirements.
• Identify tax planning opportunities and recommend process improvements.
• Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to a collaborative culture.
• Assist with client growth initiatives and business development activities.

About You

• ACA, ACCA, or CPA qualified.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience within an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of Irish accounting and tax compliance.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and communicate confidently with business owners.
• Experience managing a client portfolio and delivering high-quality client service.
• Proficient in accounting software such as Surf Accounts, Sage, Xero, or similar.
• Commercially minded, proactive, and solutions-focused.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
