Qualified Accountant - Waterford

The Role

This role is designed for someone with strong practice experience who is ready to take ownership of a portfolio of clients, lead meetings, present accounts, and become a key advisor to SMEs, partnerships, and sole traders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a portfolio of SME clients across a variety of sectors
• Prepare and present financial statements in line with Irish accounting standards
• Lead client meetings, build strong relationships, and deliver clear financial insights
• Oversee tax compliance including VAT, PAYE, RCT, Corporation Tax, and Income Tax
• Liaise with Revenue and handle client queries, audits, and filings
• Identify opportunities for tax planning and process improvement
• Mentor and support junior staff and help foster a collaborative team culture
• Contribute to strategic client management and business development initiatives

Ideal Candidate

• Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA)
• Minimum 3+ years of practice experience
• Strong technical knowledge of Irish tax and accounting compliance
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and present at senior level
• Comfortable in a leadership role and taking full ownership of a client portfolio
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Surf Accounts, Sage, Xero, or similar)
• Commercially aware, proactive, and confident in a client advisory setting
