Project Quantity Surveyor

Company Intro / Summary
A growing Chartered Quantity Surveying consultancy is looking to add a Projects Quantity Surveyor to its team in County Galway. The consultancy provides cost and commercial services to main contractors, subcontractors and clients, with experience across Ireland, the UK, Australia and mainland Europe.
This is a particularly varied opportunity, with the successful candidate working across live building, civil engineering and infrastructure projects, alongside experienced Chartered Directors. The role offers strong exposure to measurement, estimating, commercial management and contract administration, with a clear pathway to progress into a more senior commercial position.

Responsibilities
• Preparing and checking Bills of Quantities and re-measures using ARM, CESMM and TII standards
• Carrying out measurement and take-offs from drawings and specifications
• Preparing cost estimates and cost plans covering labour, plant and materials
• Preparing interim payment applications and valuations
• Assisting with variations, payment claims and construction claims
• Supporting contract administration and maintaining accurate project documentation
• Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Liaising with clients, contractors and design teams on commercial matters
• Attending site visits and project meetings as required

Requirements
• BSc in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• 3–6 years' relevant Quantity Surveying or commercial experience
• Experience across building, civil engineering or infrastructure would be desirable
• Working knowledge of RIAI and/or Public Works Contracts
• Experience with measurement to ARM, CESMM and/or TII standards
• Proficiency with measurement/estimating software and MS Excel
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet contractual deadlines
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Full clean driving licence

Desirable
• Experience across residential/commercial building, water/wastewater, roads, energy or data centres
• Progress towards MRICS, MSCSI or MCInstCES
• Exposure to construction claims or dispute resolution

Package
• €55,000 - €70,000 DOE
• Galway based
• Direct exposure to residential, building, civil and infrastructure projects
• Work directly alongside experienced Chartered Directors
• Career progression within a growing consultancy operating across Ireland and internationally
• Support with progression towards Chartership, including guidance from an SCSI-trained Supervisor and Counsellor
