Project Quantity Surveyor

Company Intro / Summary
A leading Main Building Contractor is looking to add a Project Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team in Kerry. This is a strong opportunity for a QS based in Kerry who wants to work with a major contractor while avoiding the need to commute to Dublin every day.

The successful candidate will be based primarily in the Kerry office, with responsibility for a large-scale Dublin project and travel to the Dublin office required just one day every fortnight.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial aspects of the project from procurement through to completion
• Preparing valuations, cost reports, forecasts and final accounts
• Managing subcontractor accounts and procurement packages
• Monitoring project costs, variations, claims and commercial risks
• Reviewing contracts and ensuring commercial compliance
• Working closely with the Project Manager, Contracts Manager and wider site team
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
• Supporting the Senior Commercial team with the overall delivery of the project

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics
• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
• Main contractor experience would be highly advantageous
• Experience working on large-scale building projects
• Strong understanding of procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts
• Good contractual and commercial awareness
• Strong communication, analytical and organisational skills

Package

• Salary: €70,000 DOE
• Kerry based
• 3 days per week in the Kerry office
• Dublin office attendance just 1 day every fortnight
