This is a pivotal position within the delivery team, responsible for managing all on-site activities, overseeing project performance, and ensuring the smooth coordination between engineering, commercial, and operational teams. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of technical knowledge, leadership capability, and strong communication skills.
Key Duties & Responsibilities - Take ownership of daily site operations and ensure all works are executed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour teams.
- Drive progress against project milestones and contractual deliverables.
- Oversee material procurement, logistics, and planning of site resources.
- Manage all commercial and operational aspects of project delivery, including cost control and reporting.
- Liaise closely with the client, design consultants, and local authorities to maintain clear lines of communication.
- Support the wider team on programme management, quality assurance, and HSQE compliance.
- Contribute to progress meetings, reporting, and stakeholder updates.
Candidate Profile - Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction or relevant qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a site or project management role within civil engineering, utilities, or public realm works.
- Background in Public Works Contracts (PWC) is a bonus but not essential.
- Strong commercial awareness and a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and organisational skills.
- Confident decision-maker with a solutions-focused mindset.
- Proficient in project management tools and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience liaising with clients from project inception through to completion.
