Project Design Manager

ProSource Group are working with one of Irelands leading M&E contractors. They are seeking a Project Design Manager to join their growing team team. 
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities. They should have extensive expertise in commercial and industrial architecture and engineering, with a particular emphasis on data centre design.
The role requires the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a composed and professional approach at all times. The candidate should exhibit integrity, attention to detail, a methodical mindset, and a strong work ethic.

Key capabilities include:

• Leading multidisciplinary engineering teams through complex engineering and construction processes, particularly within large-scale data centre environments
• Strong contract negotiation skills, with the ability to deliver value-driven solutions without compromising safety or quality
• A proactive, resilient mindset with the ability to perform under pressure and maintain forward momentum
• Solid understanding of local building codes, regulations, and jurisdictional requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and presentations
• Competency in design tools such as AutoCAD and Revit/Navisworks
• Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally

Experience requirements:

• Proven experience delivering large-scale projects (circa €100M), including Design & Build and Design/Bid/Build models
• A strong track record in data centre or mission-critical environments (typically 5–10 years)
• Direct experience in design and/or commissioning (typically 5–10 years)
• Advanced knowledge of electrical, mechanical, security/monitoring, and fire detection/suppression systems
• Comprehensive understanding of industry-standard design and construction practices
• General knowledge of construction terminology, principles, and contract frameworks
• Familiarity with core building code requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Technical Program Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
