About the company This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in a company leading the decarbonisation of buildings through modern sustainable energy solutions. Our client is a specialist engineering contractor delivering prefabricated energy centres, district heating infrastructure and large scale MEP energy systems.
The organisation specialises in off-site prefabrication, designing and manufacturing energy centres that improve efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and accelerate project delivery. Their work spans sectors such as healthcare, data centres, commercial developments and large infrastructure projects.
With a strong presence across Ireland, the UK and Europe, the Dublin team is expanding due to a strong and growing pipeline of projects.
About the position This is a senior position leading the design, development and delivery of off-site prefabricated energy systems. The role will play a key part in shaping how sustainable energy infrastructure is delivered, with ownership of mechanical designs from early concept through to commissioning.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high quality design work, collaborating across multiple teams and supporting the continued growth of the engineering team, including mentoring junior engineers. As a result, it is important the incoming person has strong senior experience within the Irish building services market.
This is a hybrid role with the office located in North Dublin.
Day to day responsibilities - Managing the mechanical design delivery for the decarbonisation of a range of commercial projects
- Producing mechanical designs including schematics, calculations, equipment selection, bills of materials and project specifications
- Developing and validating BMS control strategies, from initial design through to onsite verification
- Working closely with fabrication teams to ensure designs are accurately translated into manufactured solutions
- Supporting commissioning activities, including optimisation and verification of BMS controls
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, industry standards and quality requirements
- Participating in internal and external design meetings and liaising professionally with clients, suppliers and contractors
- Mentoring and supporting the development of junior engineers
The successful candidate will have - A degree in mechanical engineering, building services or a related discipline
- Senior experience designing building services systems
- Strong experience designing LTHW, MTHW and steam heating systems
- Experience conducting site surveys, energy assessments and technical audits
