ProSource Group is working on behalf of a leading global engineering consultancy who are currently seeking a
Principal Electrical Engineer to join its
Critical Systems team in Dublin. You will play a key role in shaping the future of
data centre design — working on globally recognised, large-scale, technically complex projects.
This is a strategic opportunity for an experienced engineer to lead the design and delivery of electrical systems for mission-critical infrastructure, working alongside world-class engineers with a shared commitment to
Zero Carbon Design.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage the delivery of electrical engineering design for data centre and critical systems projects
- Develop and produce design deliverables: layouts, schematics, specifications, reports, and calculations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, technically sound solutions
- Oversee team resourcing, budgeting, and project scheduling
- Support and mentor junior engineers while managing a small project team
- Represent the company in client meetings, both in Ireland and internationally
- Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation, and decarbonisation goals
- Monitor and maintain design quality in accordance with current standards and best practices
Ideal Candidate Profile - Degree-qualified in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (BEng/MEng).
- Chartered Engineer (or working toward Chartership).
- Significant experience delivering electrical designs within critical systems or data centre environments.
- Proficient in electrical system design, including layouts, reports, schematics, and detailed documentation.
- Track record of leading projects and managing design teams effectively.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Able to think critically, manage deadlines, and guide teams through complex technical challenges.
