My client is an established and growing Consultancy firm based in North Dublin City and they are seeking an experienced Accountant to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to come in and establish themselves as a Practice Manager / Accounts Supervisor within a supportive and professional environment. You will enjoy autonomy in the role, where you will oversee Accounts Production, Payroll and general Bookkeeping services while managing a small team of 2 Part-Qualified Accountants.
Key Responsibilities - Managing and mentoring a team of 2 direct reports, including work allocation, performance reviews and ongoing development.
- Full responsibility for onboarding new clients, including initial consultations, engagement letters and system set-up.
- Ensuring all compliance and statutory deadlines are met across a varied client portfolio (VAT, PAYE/PRSI, Corporation Tax, CRO filings, etc.).
- Overseeing the preparation and review of:
- Management Accounts
- Financial Statements
- Payroll processing
- Bookkeeping and VAT returns
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients and proactively building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Identifying opportunities to grow and cross-sell services within the existing client base.
- Implementing and improving internal processes and controls to increase efficiency and service quality.
- Liaising with external bodies including Revenue, CRO, auditors and financial institutions where required.
- Supporting partners/directors with ad-hoc projects and business development initiatives.
- Ability to utilise technology and embed it into clients relationships.
- Develop presentations for clients and attend board meetings.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent).
- Previous experience in an Irish accountancy practice or consultancy environment is essential.
- Demonstrated experience supervising or managing junior staff.
- Strong technical knowledge of Irish compliance and reporting requirements.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach.
- Experience with cloud-based accounting systems (e.g., Xero).
- Exposure to process improvement or practice management systems.
- Business development or client portfolio growth experience.
