Practice Manager/ Senior Accountant

ProSource Finance are delighted to be working with an established accountancy practice who are looking to appoint a commercially minded Senior Accountant to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience who is looking to progress their career in practice, take on greater responsibility and become a key member of the firm’s future.
The role will provide broad exposure across Audit, Audit Exempt clients, Tax and Accounts, with the opportunity to work closely with the Partners and develop strong client relationships.

For the right individual, there is also potential to work towards the Sole Practitioner Certificate (RI) for Audit, making this a particularly attractive opportunity for someone with long-term ambitions in practice.

The Opportunity This is not simply a role focused on preparing accounts. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become a #2 in the firm, taking increasing responsibility for clients, assignments and the wider running of the practice.

The Partners are looking for someone who is commercially savvy, capable of working independently and keen to contribute to the continued growth and development of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors.
• Prepare and review accounts for both Audit and Audit Exempt clients.
• Assist with and manage audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Prepare and review corporation tax, income tax and other relevant tax returns.
• Provide clients with accounting, tax and general business advice.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Work closely with the Partners on client matters and contribute to the development of the practice.
• Identify opportunities to improve client service and add value to existing relationships.
• Support and mentor junior members of the team.
• Take increasing responsibility for the day-to-day running of the practice.
• Contribute to the development of internal processes and systems.
• Work towards a future leadership role within the firm.

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally gained in an Irish accountancy practice.
• Strong experience across Audit, Audit Exempt accounts, Tax and Accounts.
• Commercially minded, with the ability to understand clients’ businesses and identify opportunities to add value.
• Ambitious and motivated to progress their career in practice.
• Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge.
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage a portfolio of clients and take ownership of assignments.
• A team player who is keen to contribute to the wider success of the firm.
• An interest in progressing towards the Sole Practitioner Certificate (RI) for Audit would be an advantage.
