Payroll Manager / Senior Payroll Specialist

Due to continued growth, a number of well-established accountancy practices across Leinster are seeking experienced Payroll Managers / Senior Payroll Specialists to join their teams. These positions offer an excellent opportunity to work within professional practice environments supporting a diverse client portfolio across multiple sectors.

The successful candidate will bring strong payroll experience, ideally gained within an accountancy practice or payroll bureau environment, and will be confident managing end-to-end payroll processing while ensuring compliance with Irish payroll legislation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end payroll process for a portfolio of clients across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and within strict deadlines
• Maintain compliance with Revenue, PAYE, PRSI, USC, pensions, and statutory requirements
• Liaise directly with clients regarding payroll queries, onboarding, and payroll changes
• Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations as required
• Process starters, leavers, benefits, pensions, and salary amendments
• Keep up to date with changes in Irish payroll legislation and compliance requirements
• Support and mentor junior payroll team members (for senior/manager-level roles)
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 3+ years’ payroll experience, ideally within an accountancy practice or payroll bureau
• Strong understanding of Irish payroll legislation and Revenue requirements
• Experience processing multiple payrolls and managing high volumes
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication and client-facing ability
• Payroll qualification or relevant certification advantageous
• Experience with payroll software such as BrightPay, Sage, Thesaurus, Megapay, CollSoft, or similar is beneficial.
