We are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Manager to join a growing and well-established accountancy practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working with a diverse client base and taking ownership of the full payroll function.
The successful candidate will manage payroll processing across a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery, while also acting as a key point of contact for payroll-related queries.
Key Responsibilities - Manage the end-to-end processing of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clients.
- Process payroll accurately, including PAYE, USC, PRSI, pensions, benefits and other statutory deductions.
- Review and validate timesheets, hours, overtime, leave and other payroll inputs.
- Manage statutory leave calculations, including maternity, paternity, parental and sick leave.
- Complete PAYE Modernisation submissions and ensure all payroll deadlines are met.
- Reconcile payrolls and prepare payroll reports, journals and supporting documentation for client finance teams.
- Liaise directly with clients, responding to payroll queries and providing clear and practical advice.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure all information is handled with the highest level of confidentiality.
- Maintain and update payroll systems, including Sage Payroll.
- Support year-end payroll processes, Revenue submissions and payroll audits.
- Keep up to date with changes in Irish payroll legislation, Revenue requirements and employment-related regulations.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, procedures and efficiencies.
- Maintain appropriate payroll procedures and documentation to ensure consistent service delivery.
The Ideal Candidate - 2+ years' payroll experience, ideally gained within an accountancy practice or bureau environment.
- Strong knowledge of Irish payroll legislation and Revenue requirements.
- Experience managing payroll for multiple clients or entities is highly desirable.
- IPASS qualification or equivalent would be an advantage.
- Strong experience with Sage Payroll.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple payroll deadlines.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
- A high level of discretion and understanding of the importance of payroll confidentiality.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
