A well-established accountancy practice in Dundalk is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join their team on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to step into a key role within a busy and collaborative practice environment, managing payroll operations for a diverse portfolio of clients.

The Role:
Working closely with Partners and the wider team, the successful candidate will take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation and Revenue requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing and processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls for a varied client portfolio.
  • Ensuring compliance with PAYE, PRSI, USC, pensions, benefits and statutory deductions.
  • Managing payroll submissions and maintaining compliance with Revenue requirements, including payroll reporting and deadlines.
  • Acting as the key point of contact for payroll-related queries from clients and employees.
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records and preparing payroll reports as required.
  • Liaising with internal accounting teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless payroll delivery.
  • Supporting process improvements and maintaining best practice across payroll operations.

Candidate Profile:
  • Previous experience working in a Payroll Manager / Senior Payroll position, ideally within an accountancy practice or bureau environment.
  • Strong understanding of Irish payroll legislation, PAYE Modernisation, Revenue reporting and employment regulations.
  • Experience managing multiple payrolls with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Proficient across payroll systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
