The Practice

An established Dublin-based architectural studio delivering high-quality residential and mixed-use projects across Ireland is hiring a Passivhaus Designer to join a growing technical team.

The practice is known for:

The Role

This position suits an architect/architectural technologist/designer with a strong interest in Passivhaus principles, building physics, and energy-efficient detailing, who wants to play a key role in delivering high-performance projects from early-stage design through to technical delivery.
You will be involved in:
  • Supporting the design and delivery of Passivhaus / low-energy projects (new build + retrofit)
  • Developing and reviewing technical details to ensure airtightness, thermal continuity, and buildability
  • Producing high-quality construction information and technical packages
  • Coordinating with consultants and contractors to ensure performance targets are achieved
  • Assisting with PHPP modelling inputs and performance documentation (depending on experience)
  • Attending technical workshops and project meetings when required
Requirements The ideal candidate will have:
  • Passivhaus Designer qualification (or actively working toward it)
  • Experience working on high-performance / low-energy buildings
  • Strong knowledge of airtightness strategy, thermal bridging, insulation continuity, and energy-efficient detailing
  • Proficiency in Revit (preferred) and strong technical drawing capability
  • Ability to communicate clearly with design teams, consultants, and site teams
  • A proactive mindset and strong attention to detail
Desirable (Not Essential)
  • Experience with retrofit/deep retrofit projects
  • Familiarity with PHPP and low-energy calculations
  • Understanding of Irish Building Regulations and construction standards
  • Experience producing tender/construction stage packages
