Mechanical Quantity Surveyor

A growing construction contractor is looking to add a Project Quantity Surveyor to its commercial team in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity to join a tightly knit and expanding team, working across a strong portfolio of projects with plenty of scope for long-term development.

The position would ideally suit a mechanically biased Quantity Surveyor with experience managing the commercial aspects of construction projects. The company offers an easily commutable Dublin location, a strong pipeline of work and the opportunity to become a key member of a growing commercial team.
  
Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial aspects of projects from procurement through to completion
• Preparing valuations, cost reports, forecasts and final accounts
• Managing procurement and subcontractor packages
• Monitoring project costs, variations, claims and commercial risks
• Reviewing contracts and ensuring commercial compliance
• Working closely with Project Managers, site teams and senior management
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics
• Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role
• Mechanical/M&E experience would be highly advantageous
• Strong understanding of procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts
• Good contractual and commercial awareness
• Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a close-knit team

Package

• Salary: €60,000 – €70,000 DOE
