Mechanical Engineering Contractor is seeking an experienced
Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in
Limerick. The company delivers complex fabrication and installation projects across the pharmaceutical, industrial, energy, and manufacturing sectors, with a
strong pipeline of work throughout Limerick and the wider Munster region. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious QS to take on a technically engaging role within a highly respected engineering business.
Responsibilities - Manage the commercial and contractual elements of mechanical engineering projects from tender through to final account.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets, cost plans, take-offs, and procurement documentation.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations and evaluate pricing proposals.
- Prepare valuations, variations, and progress claims with accurate supporting documentation.
- Provide commercial support to project managers, engineers, and site teams.
- Track project costs and performance, ensuring financial accuracy and timely reporting.
- Assist in tender preparation, bid analysis, and cost optimisation exercises.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures, contractual requirements, and industry standards.
Requirements - Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 4–5 years’ experience in a QS role, ideally within a mechanical or M&E contractor environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, fabrication, and installation processes.
- Excellent commercial acumen, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant QS/project software.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple projects in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Package - Salary: €65,000 – €75,000 DOE.
