ProSource Group are working with a leading Mechanical Contractor who is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager for Data Centre Projects in Germany & Belgium. Due to their continued expansion there will be an opportunity for progression & growth within the company. Ideally the individual can work as part of a team, but also take the initiative to work on a project solely.
Responsibilities: - Take overall responsibility for the delivery of the mechanical services package.
- Develop and manage the mechanical project execution strategy.
- Establish project objectives, deliverables, milestones and key performance indicators.
- Manage the project from mobilisation through installation, commissioning and final handover.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Chair regular mechanical coordination and progress meetings.
- Maintain effective communication with the Project Director, client, consultant, main contractor and project stakeholders.
- Identify project risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Ensure all project documentation and records are maintained to company and client requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed mechanical project programmes in conjunction with the planning team.
- Monitor progress against agreed milestones and identify potential delays at an early stage.
- Coordinate mechanical activities with civil, structural, electrical, architectural and specialist packages.
- Plan labour, plant, materials and subcontractor requirements.
- Drive short-term and look-ahead planning with the site management team.
- Support recovery programmes where project performance falls behind target.
- Ensure procurement activities align with the construction programme.
Requirements: - Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical construction/project management.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Trade Background, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale mechanical building services projects.
- Significant experience working for a mechanical contractor.
- Proven data centre project experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing projects with mechanical packages in the €10m+ range would be advantageous.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary construction interfaces.
- Demonstrable experience through installation, commissioning and handover.
- Experience working with major main contractors, consultants and international clients.
- Previous experience working on projects in Ireland and/or mainland Europe is highly desirable.
- Willingness and ability to travel and work internationally for extended project periods.
