ProSource Group are seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer you will be expected to support the project manager and contracts manager in the daily operation and delivery of projects as well as showing progression and development in your own career.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability standards, policies, and procedures are consistently followed on site.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the company’s HSQE management system and procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable statutory requirements.
  • Provide cover for the Project Manager when required, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management and operation of the site in their absence.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the project programme and budget, including the potential impact of delays, cost overruns, and changes on overall project performance.
  • Prepare, review, and submit detailed Method Statements and Risk Assessments before any relevant works commence.
  • Prepare coordinated drawings incorporating all elements of the installation, including mechanical, electrical, sprinkler, structural, and architectural requirements.
  • Support the preparation, review, and evaluation of Technical Submittals.
  • Identify and assess opportunities for value engineering and cost savings throughout the project.
  • Review and interpret project specifications and design drawings, ensuring that coordinated drawings and technical submittals comply with the specified requirements.
  • Carry out receipt verification of equipment and materials delivered to site, ensuring that deliveries meet the required specifications.
  • Raise and resolve design queries with the design team through the established Request for Information (RFI) process.
  • Develop an understanding of the commercial aspects of project delivery, including profit plans, variation registers, quantities, take-offs, and associated project controls.
  • Ensure that all works are delivered in accordance with the project’s quality procedures and quality plan. This includes ensuring completion of Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), Inspection and Test Records (ITRs), pipe pressure testing, water testing, commissioning, and other specified quality requirements.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar position, preferably within the mechanical engineering or building services sector.
  • A minimum Level 7 Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a project team and contribute constructively during project and team meetings.
  • Experience and confidence in engaging with suppliers and subcontractors during both the procurement stage and subsequent delivery of their contracted scope.
  • Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities, with the flexibility to respond effectively to challenges and issues arising during project delivery.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM-related software.
  • A strong understanding of applicable Irish and international building regulations, codes, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, organisational, and project management skills.
  • A full, clean driving licence.
