Mechanical Draftsperson

ProSource are seeking a Mechanical Draftsperson for a leading Consultancy in Kilkenny. Role purpose is to assist the mechanical engineering team in the preparation, development and coordination of mechanical building services drawings and BIM models for construction projects. The successful candidate will produce accurate technical information from concept design through detailed design, tender, construction and handover stages.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical building services drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit MEP.
• Develop HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic water, drainage and associated mechanical services layouts.
• Produce general arrangement drawings, plantroom layouts, sections, schematics and detailed installation drawings.
• Develop and maintain coordinated 3D BIM models in accordance with project requirements.
• Coordinate mechanical services with architectural, structural, electrical and other building services disciplines.
• Identify and assist in resolving spatial clashes and design coordination issues.
• Incorporate design changes and comments from engineers, architects and contractors.
• Assist with the preparation of tender drawings, construction issue drawings and as-built documentation.
• Maintain drawing registers, revisions and document control in accordance with company quality procedures.
• Liaise with engineers and other project team members to meet project deliverables and deadlines.

Qualifications and experience

• Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, CAD or BIM.
• Experience in a mechanical building services consultancy or similar construction design environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit MEP and BIM coordination processes.
• Understanding of mechanical building services layouts and construction drawings.
• Familiarity with Irish and European standards and relevant building regulations, as applicable to the project.
• Ability to interpret engineering sketches, specifications and design information.
