Mechanical Design Engineer - North Dublin

ProSource Group are recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the delivery of mechanical systems in energy-conscious buildings across commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial sectors. You’ll play a pivotal role as part of a multidisciplinary team, helping push best practice and sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems including HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, water services, and hydronic layouts.
• Perform equipment sizing, load calculations, thermal analysis, and system layouts.
• Integrate mechanical systems with architectural and structural elements, coordinating with other disciplines.
• Produce detailed mechanical drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Assist with site visits, inspections, and liaise during construction to resolve technical issues.
• Support senior engineers and help mentor junior team members.
• Stay abreast of new mechanical technologies, efficiency measures, and design standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
• 3–7 years’ experience in mechanical design within a building services consultancy.
• Experience with design software (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD, simulation / modelling tools).
• Solid understanding of mechanical codes, standards, and regulations.
• Strong analytical, coordination, and communication capabilities.
• Self-motivated approach and able to work under supervision to deliver as part of a team.
• Enthusiasm for sustainable, energy-efficient mechanical solutions.
