Management Accountant - Kilkenny

Our client, a well-established and growing infrastructure and engineering business based in Kilkenny, is seeking to appoint a qualified Management Accountant to join their finance function.

Operating across multiple divisions, the business has built a strong reputation within its sector and continues to experience sustained growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to take ownership within a fast-paced commercial environment while developing into a broader finance leadership role over time.

The Opportunity Reporting into senior management and working closely with an established finance and operations team, the successful candidate will play a key role in the preparation of accurate and timely financial information to support business performance and decision-making.

This role will suit an experienced Management or newly qualified accountant who enjoys working in a busy environment, can confidently manage competing priorities, and has the commercial awareness to focus on key business deliverables.  Experience working with Construction sector clients will be of an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts across multiple business divisions.
• Delivery of accurate month-end reporting, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
• Preparation of management reports and financial analysis to support operational and commercial decision-making.
• Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Monitoring financial performance and identifying areas for improved efficiencies and controls.
• Assisting with cashflow management and financial planning.
• Supporting year-end audit and liaising with external. accountants/advisors where required.
• Reviewing existing finance processes and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Working collaboratively with operational and administrative teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Supporting wider finance requirements as the role develops.

About You

• Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CPA).
• Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar commercially focused finance role or Practice accountant looking to move to Industry (must have construction sector experience).
• Strong technical accounting and management accounts preparation experience.
• Comfortable working within a busy, evolving environment.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
• Commercially minded with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
• Strong Excel and financial systems experience.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage across finance and non-finance teams.
